This play is profound. It had me the whole way. For me, it’s the themes that drive it – alienation, other people’s expectations, and the desire for something intangible. Just like watching Blank City (the film) is seminally inspiring for me, this play is iconic in my sense of things.
The upstairs theatre of the Westside Theatre in Hells Kitchen is intimate, which is perfect for so intimate a script. It’s one of those experiences, more than Broadway actually, that make me feel privileged to be in New York.
